First Blog Impressions

Blog... I believe that was the name given to John Belushi's SNL character that was helping his patients lose weight by not allowing them to eat the char... Well, until now that is about all I associated with the idea. But, it is time to get on the blog. Blog or be blogged. Where were you and what were your initial thoughts when yur heard about BLOGGING?

  1. The first time I was ever exposed to blogs was our first Web 2.0 class. I have heard about blogs on tv shows, but have never actually read blogs or wrote any blogs. Although inexperienced with blogs, I am excited to learn more about them.

  2. You are to funny. Great recall of SNL! The word does sound like part of an SNL skit. The first time I heard the word BLOG it reminded me of the teacher voice on Charlie Brown... BLAH, BLAH, BLAH.

The more I learn about and experience Blogs the more I see that it is about a lot of talking. I'll be interested to see how I can use it in my art room.

  3. The first time I heard about blogging was in High School. I remember hearing that a girl in our class was keeping an "Online Diary", and I thought it was a really stupid idea. However, since then I've seen blogs really come into their own. SO much so that some prominent bloggers are being invited to press conferences and media only conventions. I have to say that's pretty cool.

  4. Richardson claims that "online journals" are technically not 'blogging'. Do you agree?

  6. I'm not sure I can answer the "where was I" question b/c I had heard of blogs before class on January 21st, but my initial thoughts were "its not for me!", but now that I know a little more maybe it is.-???

  7. Well, to respond to Dawn, I think that blogging is what you make of it. And, as it was said in class last week, you have to start somewhere when blogging. Everything has to be scaffolded in some way.
